If it was a really good apple, wouldn't the core be the only thing left. Or, maybe it's the apple (even though there's no actual biblical reference to it being an apple) from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and so there's only one bite, because it poisons and kills you immediately upon swallowing. Or, maybe the knowledge is so powerful, steve jobs got distracted and forgot to finish the apple.
